Working in bookmaking for 25+ years but a horse racing fan for much more since my initial introduction to Market Rasen as a 4yo which got me hooked (where I got to see the mighty Night Nurse in action)
Nowadays I compile odds and trade them, mainly for tennis but also for some winter sports, motor sports, cycling, athletics, swimming, entertainment and some politics markets.
It’s horse racing that started it all off though and while I have worked on that sport in the past it’s now for my own punting that I concentrate on it.
I started this site for Cheltenham in 2013 to give more detailed essays about my thoughts for the big sporting (but mainly racing) events – for shorter notes I rely on Twitter (@Senor_Moodoir)
I tend to concentrate on the bigger events because that is where markets and prices are strongest, place terms can be most advantageous and where you can get the biggest bets on without attracting too much attention. While more ‘minority’ sports can offer better value odds they are more likely to get your accounts ‘flagged up’ as a shrewd customer. Although you may get some terrific prices occasionally on these you may not get many more bets afterwards if your account becomes noticeable!
Thanks to everyone who reads and hope I can provide some inspiration and some profit
